"Special Woodstock" was created to feature the artistic talents of people with disabilities alongside professional musicians on a community/world stage...

Founded in September 1999 by Shelley Vaags, who saw a need for a platform to be created to feature this incredible, courageous, inspiring,

and unique community of individuals.

What it is all about: A short video by Erin Rooke

Special Woodstock Documentary

In 2019, Erin Rooke submitted the story of Special Woodstock to "Telus Story Hive", who was offering a $50,000.00 grant to produce an hour documentary

With the help of the community  and many hours of reminding people to vote every day, Special Woodstock was chosen to receive one of these grants,

Erin Rooke has been raised with Special Woodstock from the age of 8. She and her cousins "The Smiley Cousins" were one of the first musical acts to perform on stage in the first year,2000.

Erin has brought the history of Special Woodstock to life in her award-winning production called,
